Ben and Jack

Ben and Jack all grown up

Living in Eressos you can either decide to choose to have a cat ,or a cat or two will choose you. We had decided against having pets, but my sister-in law Sylvia had a three generation family of ferral cats, so we found ourselves choosing not one but two!!

Three of the cats had a litter in the garden, where they were provided with housing lovingly called the Cat hotel. We had chosen our two kittens and watched their progress. As there were lots of human visitors to the Cat hotel one of the mothers decided to remove the kittens. She hid them down a hole on the mountainside. Knowing they would become ferrell if left down the hole for any length of time, my brother-in-law Brian decided to retrieve them. The kittens were now about a month old (a little young to leave their mother).

We took our two kittens, now named Jack and Ben home with us. We took on the role of mother and bottle fed them. Ben took to this straight away, but Jack wasn't happy with this rather strange way of getting his sustenance. Worried about his progress we took him back home to Mum, who welcomed him lovingly. Just a week later Jack was ready to come back to us . They both continued to thrive and have become very loved (maybe a little spoilt) members of our family. Ann
